Ellie's STORY

When I was looking for a place for my loved one to live, there were certain conditions for which I was looking. Cleanliness was number one. The owners at Maritime Gardens assured me that each day all residents' bathrooms are cleaned and rooms cleaned twice a week. For over a year now I have visited usually 2 times a week and have seen each time the bathroom cleaned as well as the room.

Maritime Gardens tries to help the residents with their faith and church. On Monday mornings there is a service for the Catholics as well as a DVD of a Lutheran service from Kiel, Wisconsin. Once a month a Bible class is conducted for all and "Son's Minisitries" is conducted by adults, children, and a pastor to tell a Bible story and sing hymns.

Food looks appealing as well as giving the residents a large variety. The whole atmosphere inside is clean and the decor is always changing with the seasons and the holidays.

Compassion, caring, and respect to the residents by the employees is evident. And could be said for the visitors as well. The employees try to keep residents engaged in activities.

If anyone is looking for a home away from home for a loved one, I feel Maritime Gardens is the perfect home.

Fr. Timothy's STORY

Maritime Gardens was clearly the best choice I could have made in terms of health care for my mother. It is by far the best assisted living facility that I have yet to experience. From its size alone, one can immediately sense the familial atmosphere. The devotion of the caregivers and the entire staff is remarkable. This is due in part to the ratio of caregivers to residents. With at most 24 residents, each one is given the extra care that might not be found in larger facilities.

Each person is treated with the utmost attention and respect. Doors are always open if you have a particular concern or request. The little extras also make the difference. Someone is always there to help. The care plan arranged is meticulously carried out. This is particularly important to me as I live a great distance away. It is such a relief to know that my mother is in such good hands. She has been at Maritime Gardens for nearly five years now and I would not want her to be anywhere else. Most importantly, my mother is happy and contented. This for me is the essential point. She is a person who speaks her mind and if she would not be happy, I and everyone there would be the first to hear about it. The kindness and patience of all who work there is a rare quality on such a broad level. I am truly grateful.

Tom's STORY

For the past 3 years my mother, Doris Gass, has been a resident of Maritime Gardens. The care she receives on a daily basis is excellent. The staff is professional, courteous, compassionate, and timely with their care. The cooks are terrific. The meals they plan and prepare are delicious. The atmosphere is homey, warm, and welcoming. And it is always very clean. Plus, the parties planned throughout the year by the staff for the residents and their families are a great time and fun to attend.

The facility owners, Karen and Jerry, provide a well-managed, caring environment that gives the residents and their families peace of mind.

Cordially,

Tom Gass
